Goals...

Well, I've been thinking since everyone else started posting their goals...And here's some thoughts I've come up with.

1. Healthy sheep!

We've been having some problems with pneumonia this year, but I want to make sure it doesn't come back. This spring, the sheep are getting a new pasture, and a complete overhaul of their pen (We got a skidsteer! woot!). The fence is getting some fixing, etc. I'm hoping for no lambing problems this year, and good healthy lambs!

2. White...

I *NEED* a SUPER white ewe! Low numbers across the board...Carrying color is a plus. I've got a couple I'm looking at, and some prospects maybe after lambing, so hopefully that will come to pass this year. I have no white currently, so actually even a couple super white ewes would be nice...

3. Good sheepies...

This year, breeding to my gulmoget ram, Likei, who although has a low micron, is high in cv. I'm hoping to get a couple ram lambs this year to replace him...a gulkat would be nice...I think Gulkats are my favorite pattern :D I'm hoping for some spotted gulmoget lambs! I'm also purchasing some ewes that will greatly improve the conformation of my flock. Wish me luck!

Anyway, I'm tired, and that's all I can think of right now lol. I'm sure more will come to my mind later!

Sound like a hefty program. It least you won't be bored. Good luck finding that or those perfect sheep.

Great goals. Yes, every flock needs white ewes and white lambs, the white ones are so cute.

Yes, I would like to add a white lamb this year but mine might be a Cotswold or Lecister Longwool....healthy is always a top priority!!

We had a white ewe who never had anything but white lambs. The coyotes got her last year. Her daughters are not so consistent, but we have llamas to protect them now.

Good luck with the flock development plans! Looking forward to the lambing photos. I can't wait to see my first crop of lambs, I'm hoping for HST greys. Why white? That's one thing I never want in my flock... if I want white sheep I'll keep a white breed!
