24 Hours later...

Lapacho presents me with a fawn Katmoget boy. Crazy. Was showing no other signs of labor that I could tell when I had been there before. Mom went out this morning said there was a "brown" one...I'm like "A moorit? Dark brown?" "No, like the one Torrent had only different.." So I knew it had to be Lapachos because she's the only Kat in that pen. Both boys are doing excellent. Pictures tomorrow :)

Rams are catching up more...

My mom calls me this morning "Torrent had a lamb! I couldn't see it though...looks kinda greyish..." So I'm thinking gul-kat. My beloved Chech (RIP baby) is the father, so I was SO hoping for a girl...but what IS he? Help? I've never had a kat lamb before, so is he just a normal kat or? "North Star Thor"
(btw, at 12ish hours old...he's ALL ram LOL)

And Lapacho also had a boy...look at those horn buds! He was still VERY wobbly, and her afterbirth was still hanging, so she *may* throw a twin yet, hard to say. We'll see when my mom gets home tonight. "North Star Urth"

More waiting...

*sigh* Need to squeeze some ewes if no one goes by my weekend! hehehe. And I'm biting my nails awaiting Likei's micron test....*sigh* Okay, off to bed and I'll try not to dream of sheepies! :)

Another ram lamb

Aww..my ratio is slowing creeping to where it should be LOL. 5 ewes to 2 ram lambs now. LittleRedOak Tansy had a BEAUTIFUL black ram lamb sired by River Oaks Isaac. His name is Tyr, who was the god of war in Norse Mythology.

Tyr's lookin' to have very nice uniform fleece, and he feels wonderfully soft. Mother and son are available for sale together! Post a comment if you're interested and I'll get in touch with ya :)

And here's some more fun photos :)

Dana with Quints? Nah, but she's babysitting :)

Dana's moorit girl kicking up her heels :)

Freyja and Embla racing.

Running behind Dana.

Iduna came up to say hello and then run away! :)

Signy takin' it easy in the feed box...

"AHH! She saw me! Run awayyy!"

My ewe streak ends...

Bono Creek Dana broke my streak of ewes with twins, one of each. The little girl is a moorit, big boy is a black. His fleece looks icky, but underneath his baby coat is TONS Of curly locks, and he's SUPER soft. They are out of River Oaks Isaac, but are unfortunately unregisterable. But, would still be good fiber animals or crossing for mules! :)

The boy is Sigmund, and the girl Signy. They were son and daughter of Volsung. It was the first brother/sister combo I came across! lol.

And here is Embla being mischevious and checking out the new "babies" and MILK! Lol

Lottie, Nanna and Freyja in the backround and Embla in the foreground.

Here's Lottie and Nanna licking her chops and being silly.

And kitties!!!

Almost a cute shot! One off...

Gah! That one darn kitten....

Close enough, I give up...LOL. And this is only 4 out of the 5...the 5th is a tailed calico who was WAAYYY back in the corner of their "nest box" (Mayhem had the kittens in a rabbit hutch lol) and I couldn't reach her...little turd. :)

Well, that's it for updates from the funny farm! Hopefully more lambs tonight...Peoney looks SOOOO uncomfortable. Even Konnel is starting to act like she wants those lambies out! I'm gonna go squeeze sheepies soon! :)

New lamb...

It's a ewe! So I'm 0 and 4! woot woot! Meet North Star Iduna. In Norse Mythology, Iduna was the keeper of the golden apples of youth, and wife to Bragi. :)

EDIT: Oops, it was brought to my attention by Garrett that I forgot to put who mom and dad are :) lol. River Oaks Isaac and LittleRedOak Jet.

ARGH!

I hate this! lol. I had a new lamb when mom came home, and she said it was fairly new...and that it came from a "black ewe with a splash of white on her head"...well, that could be a couple. I'm hoping it's Jet, cuz I"m expecting only a single from her, if it were Tansy, taht'd suck, cuz she should have twins this year. But anyway, I'm figuring others will go tonight since the storm is coming. More lambs in the morning. But my mom didn't even check the sex of the baby! LOL. *sigh*

No news...

Here I figured FOR SURE since I forgot my camera at home there'd be new babies....Nada! Nanna is absolutely adorable. Freyja is a lazy bum, just loves to sleep, but when she's up she's bright eyed and bushy tailed...but it's old out right now too, so all I want to do is sleep too! Embla...she is stealing my heart. She'll come over for scratches and just lean in....sooo cute. I haven't decided if she's staying or not though, I suppose it'll depend on how she turns out. I have decided that I want a good white Shetland ewe with a good, low micron. I know I want to work on fleece softness, but I want to have a lot of fun with spots at the same time! Hopefully this weekend I can get fleece samples taken of Likei and some of the ewes. I need to get Likei's before he rues out all his wool! His wool is nearly half gone! It's CRAZY. He's so pretty. Goals for this weekend are: Put up a good, secure ram pen, get a quarantine pen set up, and get fleece samples. We'll see what I get done with this head cold. Still hasn't gone away. It's starting to get painful in my nasal passageways, so I'm hoping I can still get enough sinus meds down to keep it from turning into a sinus infection :( Anyway, there's another front moving in, so I would guess the girls will start popping again. Peoney looks awful, just miserable. Everyone was pretty spread out today. *crosses fingers*
